Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson
Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson is one of my all time favorite inspirational poems. Nelson Mandela used it in his inauguration speech and a variation was also featured in the movie Coach Carter:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
ITIL Foundation certification
Just this week I sat and passed the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management exam. What the hell does that mean?
ITIL is short for ‘Information Technology Infrastructure Library’ which is a set of best practice guidelines for an IT department to deliver better service to their organisation.
Some IT departments are known for not being very customer friendly or responsive when they are called upon and ITIL improves all this when adopted and implemented.
Most of the really big organisations that exist have pretty much adopted this approach to IT. Microsoft is one huge example.
I guess it was a bit geeky of me to find it interesting
It’s basically business customer service principles where your customers are the internal organisation rather than external.
The course lasted for three days with an exam held on the final day which I’m stoked to say I confidently passed. Now I just need my special piece of paper and pin badge to arrive in the mail.
Find out more about ITIL at the official ITIL website.
