A reported 25,000 New Zealanders rallied together all over the country and marched against the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) on Saturday 15 August 2015. A 100,000 signature petition was also delivered to parliament.
What is the TPPA?
A secret trade deal between twelve countries where over 600 multi-national corporate lobbyists have been involved in helping to shape it yet our own opposition MPs haven’t.
It opens the door for:
- Foreign corporations to be able to sue future NZ governments
- Higher medicine costs
- Easier asset sales to non-residents
- Internet restrictions and harsher copyright enforcement
- Plus so much more.
